Aardman scores new mobile deal

At its peak, clips of Aardman Animations' Angry Kid were being downloaded on UK mobile devices 10,000 times per day and the prodco is looking to reach similar heights via a new deal with London-based Rhythm NewMedia. Aardman has licensed clips from library titles Creature Comforts, A Town Called Panic, Purple and Brown and Morph for use on the ad-supported mobile download service Rhythm operates for UK wireless carrier 3.

At its peak, clips of Aardman Animations’ Angry Kid were being downloaded on UK mobile devices 10,000 times per day and the prodco is looking to reach similar heights via a new deal with London-based Rhythm NewMedia. Aardman has licensed clips from library titles Creature Comforts, A Town Called Panic, Purple and Brown and Morph for use on the ad-supported mobile download service Rhythm operates for UK wireless carrier 3.

According to Aardman, in its first two months of operation, Rhythm NewMedia’s service has attracted 600,000 regular users.
