The fellas who brought you the pants-stealing pirates in Those Scurvy Rascals have been commissioned by RDF Media-owned The Foundation and Entertainment Rights to create 65 new animated shorts for the sixth series of the Basil Brush Show, slated to air on CBBC.
UK-based blue-zoo Productions has been tapped for the job, which will see the famous fox translated into 2-D animation, getting his dance on, surfing and flying through space.
The Basil Brush Show is a 65 x 30-minute series combining live-action and animation, and it has become one of CBBC’s most popular programs, attracting more than 1.5 million viewers per week. Its dedicated website www.basilbrush.com receives more than 10 million hits a month and has a subscription base of 20,000 individual users.
