L.A.-based prodco PorchLight Entertainment is forming a domestic home entertainment division dubbed PorchLight Home Entertainment. The new division is focusing on the distribution of kids and family programming acquired from leading producers worldwide in addition to the company’s new productions and program library.

PorchLight has appointed Gary Jones as SVP of PorchLight Home Entertainment to head up the new division. Jones, an industry vet with executive stints at New Concorde, Trimark and Republic Pictures, will oversee acquisitions and sales.

The division’s initial release slate includes the preschool holiday DVD A Tad of Christmas Cheer in November, co-produced by toyco LeapFrog and a modern take on Charles Dickens’ classic holiday tale, A Christmas Carol for Annie.
