Nickelodeon and the National Football League have teamed up to promote physical activity to American kids. For its part, the NFL plans to sponsor Nick’s Let’s Just Play health and wellness initiative, a grassroots co-venture with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation that has been running every year since 2003.

The new partnership is set to kick off on April 29, when NFL-centric ‘Workout Like a Pro’ PSAs begin airing on Nick’s linear platforms as part of the Let’s Just Play Healthy Challenge, as well as on the net’s VOD and iTunes services.

One spot will feature Baltimore Ravens player Ed ‘Night Train’ Reed, and Carolina Panther wide receiver Steve Smith, St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez are also pegged to play a role, perhaps participating in community outreach programs designed to drive registration for the Challenge.
