Pizza Hut’s decade-old Book It! literacy program has tapped Guess How Much I Love You as the centerpiece of its 2007 planogram.

Published in 1995 by Candlewick Press, the book by Sam McBratney (with illustrations by Anita Jeram) is about a special friendship between Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare, and it should perfectly suit the program’s aim to encourage teachers to read aloud to preschool and kindergarten children.

Educators in more than 900,000 classrooms across the US began receiving a free program packet with the book and additional educational material for use at school and at home earlier this month. And until April 27, they’ve pledged to read to their students for at least 60 minutes during the week. At the end of each four-week session, the teachers’ students will receive a certificate for a free Personal Pan Pizza redeemable at participating Pizza Hut locations.
