Toy industry pundits will be saddling up this October, as the American International Fall Toy Show moves from the Big Apple to Dallas, Texas.
From October 8 to 11, the Dallas Market Center, adjacent to the city’s downtown core, will play host to manufacturers, distributors and buyers of playthings from around the world. The Toy Industry Association says additional details should be released in the coming weeks. And as for February Toy Fair, it will remain in New York since the event is locked into a deal with the Javits Convention Center through to 2010.
Since losing its 200 Fifth Avenue showroom home in 2005, the US toy industry has been scouring Manhattan in vain for a new location. And after buyers grumblingly shuttled between locations throughout New York for this past October’s mass retail preview show, the Toy Industry Association couldn’t wait any longer to determine the geographical fate of the increasingly important calendar event.
