Fox Kids Europe recently launched a dedicated service in Hungary on Amsterdam-based UPC’s new DTH platform that will soon be available on Hungarian cable systems, including UPC cable.

Popular Fox Kids series like Power Rangers will be broadcast 13 hours a day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. CET on Fox Kids Hungary. The channel targets two- to 14-year-olds and broadcasts 100% in Hungarian. It will have a dedicated satellite feed via Astra 1F and will be uplinked from the U.K. A fully localized website and marketing operations are also planned.

The addition of Fox Kids Hungary continues Fox Kids’ expansion of its Central and Eastern European operations. In fall 2000, Fox Kids launched Fox Kids Germany, and now exists in 20 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
