Making the move back to his hands-on production roots, Peter Moss is readying to leave his position as VP of programming and production for Canadian youth channels YTV and Treehouse TV to join Cinar as president of Cinar Entertainment. As of March 1, Moss will be responsible for Cinar’s entertainment business in North and South America and Asia.

Says Moss about the move: ‘The key attraction is the chance to go into production again-I’ve been missing it badly. In the last two years, the YTV schedule has come back from the doldrums-it’s so far ahead of the competition right now that it’s almost embarrassing, so really it’s a question of new challenges for me.’

Reporting to Moss in the significantly reorganized Cinar Entertainment division will be: Cassandra Schafhausen, promoted to exec VP of creative affairs; Francois Deschamps, exec VP of operations; Lesley Taylor, exec VP of productions, including animation and live action; Patricia Lavoie, VP of live action; and Louis Fournier, VP of sales and co-productions.

David Ferguson has been promoted to president of Cinar Europe. Both Moss and Ferguson report directly to chairman and co-CEO Micheline Charest and president and co-CEO Ron Weinberg.

To fill Moss’ shoes, YTV has promoted Paula Parker from director of programming to the vacant VP slot.
