ABC for Kids has come up with another ingenious way to expand its brand-in the garden. Kids gardening merch based on the ABC’s decade-running adult gardening series Gardening Australia is on the way. Brand extension plans for the TV series include a range of gardening product for kids, such as seeds and tools, along with friendly garden characters. A range of adult Gardening Australia merch already exisits, but the kids version would have a younger-looking logo, hangtags and packaging. Product would encourage the preservation of Australia’s native plants. ABC Licensing is also looking at putting a kids section into Gardening Australia magazine, which is based on the ABC TV series and published by Sydney-based Federal Publishing.
