The studio that served up teen thrillers Scream and Scream 2 is taking a comedic stab at its own product with Scream if You Know What I Did Last Halloween, slated for release next year through Miramax label Dimension Films. The film is a send-up of the teen horror genre from Halloween to Friday the 13th, according to Dimension sources. The flick, scripted by the writers of Spy Hard, will reportedly be directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and will star Wayans and his brothers Marlon and Shawn.

Not to be outdone, indie film upstart Rhino Films has begun production on I Know What You Screamed Last Summer. Funded by L.A.-based Rhino, the project has also received nibbles from seven major studio distributors including Paramount and Universal, says Rhino president Steve Nemeth. The parody takes place at Bulimia Falls High School, where a killer disguised in a stolen costume is on the loose. Tiffani-Amber Thiessen plays a VJ investigating the case for a music cable network called ‘Empty-V.’ John Blanchard (Mad TV, The Kids in the Hall, SCTV)

directs and Tom Arnold, Coolio and Shirley Jones co-star.
