Cartoon Network will launch a family-targeted classic cartoon network on April 11, 2000, filling its 24-hour schedule with animated fare that baby boomers watched as kids-hence the new toon net’s moniker Boomerang. The net is expected to provide a venue for toon product from the enormous Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera libraries. In other Cartoon news, the net is forming an L.A.-based production studio, which should be up and running by the end of the year.
