Vancouver’s Sedona Entertainment has signed Phil Roman to serve as exec producer and creative consultant on the live-action/computer-animated feature film Cyber Garden, written by Raul Sanchez Inglis. The story, which Roman describes as ‘Alice in Wonderland in cyberspace,’ features a group of kids who enter a cybergarden in search of their uncle.
The first original animated product Roman has undertaken since leaving Film Roman, Cyber Garden is budgeted at around US$10 million. A six-time Emmy Award winner, Roman was producer and director on animated feature Tom and Jerry: The Movie for Miramax and Turner, but notes this project has a bigger scope. ‘I’m used to working with pen and paper, so [undertaking a project] using the new technology is really fun.’
