*CTW receives grant for South African project
Millions of South African children will now be exposed to Sesame Street television, radio and outreach programs, thanks to a grant awarded to Children’s Television Workshop (CTW) by the United States Agency for International Development. The project represents the first time CTW has undertaken outreach, radio and television at the same time.
The project will be tailored by South African educators to reflect the nation’s culture and traditions. CTW has undertaken 18 such indigenous co-productions, including projects in Israel/Palestine, China and Russia.
*Mexico new address for Arthur and Wimzie’s House
The television rights for Cinar’s Wimzie’s House and Arthur, a joint effort «between Cinar and WGBH Boston, have been acquired by Mexico’s newly created channel devoted to teaching English, Inglžs Individual Network.
All 50 episodes of Arthur and 112 episodes of Wimzie’s House are included in the deal and will be broadcast in English on MVS Multivisi—n’s pay TV network, which is carrying Inglžs Individual Network.
