– Playmates toys with Captain Kangaroo

Playmates Toys has entered into a master toy agreement with Saban Entertainment to produce and market toys for Saban’s The All New Captain Kangaroo, a weekly half-hour series that will air in national syndication this fall. The agreement gives Playmates the rights to create toys across several categories, including playsets, plush, games and electronic learning aids. The first line will be in stores by the spring of 1998.

-LCI shows its heart

Leisure Concepts Inc. (LCI), a division of 4 Kids Entertainment, has signed an agreement with the American Heart Association to handle the licensing and merchandising of the organization’s animated mascot Ticker.

Ticker is the spokescharacter for the association’s HeartPower! campaign, a program that gives heart health information to children from pre-kindergarten to grade eight.

The agreement also gives LCI the rights to represent Ticker for development of an animated television series.
