PARIS: Canal+ Distribution has announced the acquisition of the French broadcasting company UGC DA and the merging of the two companies’ operations and audiovisual catalogues. UGC DA’s library of 5,000 feature films will be added to Canal+’s already substantial collection.
Canal+ made the purchase offer last June, expecting to generate accelerated development and acquisitions by working as a team with UGC DA. The purchase was made in exchange for Canal+ shares.
