PrintPaks creates holiday promo

PrintPaks Inc., developer of the PrintPaks multimedia craft series, is kicking off a holiday promotion. Beginning November 10, shoppers will receive free their choice of one of six titles valued at $19.99 when they buy two products in the line. Among the nine PrintPaks releases are PrintPaks Calendar Kit and PrintPaks Party-Fun Kit. The effort continues until January 31.

Discovery offers free CD

Until December 31, Discovery Channel Multimedia is giving away Operation: Weather Disaster when consumers purchase one of six titles. Of the products specified for the promotion, Connections, Invention Studio, Savage and SkyTrip America are targeted at children.

Iznogoud is interactive

PARIS: Iznogoud, the eponymous hero of the animated series by Saban International, is now starring in a PC-based CD-ROM also called Iznogoud. The game is co-produced by France Television Distribution and Microids. A version for the Sony PlayStation is planned to launch next March.

Interactive games planned for Starship Troopers

Spectrum HoloByte is bringing the 1997 science fiction film Starship Troopers to life in the interactive world. In the agreement with Sony Signatures Film and Television Licensing, the developer and publisher will produce four games based on the TriStar Pictures release. The first title, premised on an interstellar battle, will be available for Windows 95 and the Sony PlayStation under the MicroProse label.
