LONDON: A concerted licensing campaign by Link Licensing is under way to support the launch of the North American ratings hit Goosebumps on the new Fox Children’s Network (FCN) in the U.K., which began transmission via satellite on October 19.
To date, 19 companies have signed up, including Hasbro, DreamWorks Interactive, Tiger Electronics (which launched a range of audio products for Halloween), Merlin Publishing, a subsidiary of The Topps Company, Copywrite Limited and Grosvenor of London. Over the coming months, books, sticker albums, CD-ROMs and videos will be available in the U.K.
FCN began by screening the series twice daily for the first week, and switched to a regular weekend slot. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment launches its first Goosebumps video, A Night in Terror Tower, this month.
The live-action series, produced by Protocol Entertainment in association with Scholastic Productions, will also be screened on BBC1 in 1997.
