The 94th annual American International Toy Fair takes place in New York City from February 10 to 17 at showroom locations in Manhattan and the Javits Convention Center.
Owned and managed by Toy Manufacturers of America, the Fair is the largest trade show in the Western hemisphere. This year, 18,579 commercial retail buyers from 97 countries attended, and 1,632 companies from the U.S. and 25 other countries exhibited their products. 850 media representatives from around the world covered the event.
About a dozen sales reps attended the first Toy Fair in 1902.
All of the 1,800 booths for the 1997 show were sold out last August.
The 1996 Fair added The Model-Hobby Pavilion and The Dolls/Plush Collection. These features will continue, and Celebrations!-The Party and Holiday Showcase will debut in ’97.
