Starting this month, New York-based CybrCard is offering what it claims to be the first CD-ROM sports trading cards. Its initial product will be the Topps NFL CybrCard, a series of 28 CD-ROM cards, each featuring a different National Football League player. How are they different from their traditional counterparts? Each card includes nearly 90 full-motion, full-sound video clips with highlights from each player’s career and the 1995 season, coaching analyses, loads of stats plus an area where card owners can customize stats, press clippings, trivia questions about the player, and a function to design and print your own trading cards. The collectibles are available for Windows 3.1, Windows 95 or Macintosh at a retail value of about $19.95 each.
