Little Orphan Annie is about to re-enter the consumer world in the form of a new animated action/adventure television series, supported by a full-scale licensing program and a new toy line.
A weekly half-hour TV show is in development, co-produced by Abrams/Gentile Entertainment and The Fremantle Corporation.
Abrams/Gentile has also acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to develop a Little Orphan Annie toy line and a licensing program based on the series.
The Annie character debuted in 1924 in a comic strip in the Chicago Tribune, and went on to become one of the world’s most famous comic strip characters. The franchise branched out into a radio series, a hit Broadway show and feature films.
