Hasbro Interactive Worldwide of Beverly, Massachusetts, is getting back to nature with its first licensed property acquisition. In February, the newest six months old Hasbro unit became the exclusive CD-ROM partner for the Kratts’ Creatures wildlife adventure series, which will launch nationwide in the U.S. on PBS on June 3 (see page 30). The program’s combination of original wildlife footage, animation and live action makes it ‘an ideal CD-ROM property,’ says Felicia Palmer, media relations liaison with New York-based Momentum Partners, Kratts’ Creatures’ licensing agency. The CD-ROM, like the show, will be targeted at children five to 10, and Hasbro expects to bring it out in early 1997. Hasbro joins a team of three other licensees: Scholastic will develop 18 books, one of its largest commitments ever to an unaired TV series, PolyGram Video will produce 12 titles, and Unique Industries will make a paper and party-goods line.
