Haven Global

Licensing and marketing agency Haven Global has appointed Jazwares as the master toy partner for popular YouTube channel CKN Toys (14 million subscribers). Jazwares is rolling out new products next year, alongside the brand’s upcoming preschool series debuting on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.

Jazwares’ new toys will hit shelves in the UK, Australia, Asia and the US in fall 2020. The new products, including collectible figures, vehicles and playsets will also be featured in their brand’s new Nickelodeon short-form series.

APC Kids

Parisian distributor APC Kids has signed the first broadcast deals for CTC Media’s 3D-animated series Little Tiaras. Exclusive free-to-air rights for season one and two have been picked up by international broadcasters Noga (Israel), TVP (Poland) and Kanals 2 (Latvia). APC Kids signed a distribution deal for the show back in September.

Aimed at girls four-to-seven, the 52 x seven-minute show follows five princesses who learn magic and adventure together at a school for wizards. The first 26 episodes premiered in Russia in fall 2018 on CTC and kids channel Carousel. The second season debuted in Russia in fall 2019 and will be completed in 2020.

Sesame Workshop

Sesame Workshop has partnered with Illinois-based indie book publisher Sourcebooks to launch a series of companion books for Apple TV+’s Ghostwriter series.

Republished versions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and The Jungle Book are available now and the brand’s original book Trinity is launching at the end of December. More republished and original titles will be announced as the TV series continues. The new companion books are being adapted by up and coming middle-grade authors who are changing the descriptions of some of the book’s characters to match their appearances in the show. Each title also includes vocabulary and reading comprehension games, puzzles and crafts tied to the story.

Apple TV+’s new series is a live-action mystery for kids six to 11, with every multi-episode arc inspired by different literary works. In the show, a ghost goes around releasing fictional characters from books into the real world and a group of kids have to help return the icons back to their stories. Toronto-based prodco Sinking Ship and Sesame Workshop produce the show that debuted on November first.

Curious World

Learning app Curious World is expanding to TV for the first time through a new partnership with telecommunications conglom Comcast. Under the agreement, customers using Comcast’s Xfinity TV and streaming service can subscribe to Curious World for US$3.99 per month.

Previously only available on iOS devices, this deal marks the first time the app will be accessible on a pay TV service. Xfinity’s users are now able to access 12 series (175 episodes) from Curious World. Aimed at kids two to seven, the new channel features short-form shows such as Let’s Go to Work (pictured), which follows different people in various jobs and Jingle Bilingual, featuring sing-along songs that switch between two different languages.

Tankee

Gaming-focused content platform Tankee has partnered with connected TV provider PlayWorks to launch a Tankee channel on Roku. Launched yesterday, the new channel features thousands of family-friendly gaming-focused videos vetted and curated by humans focused on popular games like Minecraft, Roblox and Fortnite. Aimed at kids six to 12, Tankee is also stacking the channel with a slate of its original shows, including Big B Plays Roblox and Minecraft-focused Space Mission ALT and Dragon Kingdom series.
