DHX Media’s WildBrain has appointed former Disney exec Elia Bouthors as strategy and innovation director. The newly created role will see Bouthors identify new ways to engage Wildbrain’s users, as well as build and monetize brands across the network.

Bouthors reports to WildBrain’s managing director Jon Gisby. He previously served as the director of digital strategy and business development, EMEA for The Walt Disney Company. Prior to that Bouthors was strategy manager with the BBC, supporting commercial development efforts.

This hire follows shortly after the appointment of former Sony Pictures Entertainment exec Rachel Taylor as WildBrain’s new commercial director. WildBrain has also been busy adding to its portfolio with a number of deals. The digital kidsnet signed agreements in January to handle YouTube distribution and management for the Smurfs and Playmobil IPs. The company also recently announced the launch of four new channels on AVOD platforms Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Roku.
