Apolo Films snags Animasia duo

The European media company picked up the Malaysian studio’s Chuck Chicken and Harry & Bunnie to distribute in the region.

Madrid-based Apolo Films has secured the distribution rights for Animasia Studio’s two animated series Chuck Chicken and Harry & Bunnie (pictured) in Spain, Portugal, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Scandinavia, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

The 52 x 11-minute action comedy Chuck Chicken, is aimed at kids ages seven to 11 and takes place on Rocky Perch Island where the titular character provides security and protection for the citizens. Season one is available on Chinese streamer iQiyi, where it has already reached two billion views, as well as on Disney XD in South East Asia and in more than 50 countries on Netflix. The second season is slated for a 2020 release.

Harry & Bunnie is a 78 x seven-minute non-dialogue slapstick series for ages seven to 11 and feature conflicts between a wannabe magician and his former stage rabbit. It currently airs in Disney APAC and on Netflix.
