London-based distributor CAKE is partnering with Finland’s Ferly (previously Kaiken Entertainment) on a new animated adventure series called Kingdom of None that should be ready to air in 2021. The 52 x 11-minuter targets six- to 11-year-olds with stories about a group of kids who turn the regular events of their everyday lives into epic adventures.

Ferly will produce the series with Canada’s Yellow Animation, and CAKE is on board to co-finance and manage global sales. The collaboration comes on the heels of a previous hook-up that saw Ferly tap CAKE’s Popcorn Digital arm to develop and launch content on YouTube.

In other Ferly news, the prodco recently joined forces with Paris-based Zephyr Animation and Yellow Animation to co-produce new comedy-adventure series Gone Gills, which tells the story of three prehistoric creatures stranded in the present day. CAKE, meanwhile, is partnering with LA’s Atomic Toybox Entertainment on an upcoming Captain Action series inspired by the 1960s action figure brand.
