Free-to-air broadcaster Disney Channel Spain has scooped up rights to the first two seasons of Mondo TV Iberoamerica’s live-action dramedy Heidi Bienvenida for 12 months. The tween-skewing show debuted on the network on January 28, and is scheduled to air Monday to Thursday on linear before joining the Disney Channel App seven days later.

Produced by Mondo and Alianzas Producciones, the 120 x 45-minute series is about the adventures of a carefree girl who leaves her mountain home to live in the big city.

Heidi Bienvenida is also gaining traction in the licensing world, most recently through a new two-year publishing agreement with Penguin Random House Groupo Editorial. The deal covers more than 10 titles published in Spanish for the LatAm market in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
