Germany’s Studio 100 has inked a deal with popular Belgium alien acrobatic dance act Baba Yega to develop live shows for the international market, as well as fiction and non-fiction TV and web series.
The European performance group and YouTube phenom mixes elements of dance, theater, humor and acrobatics. Last year, the troupe was a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent and in 2017 was runner up and audience favorite in Germany’s localized version of the show, Das Supertalent on RTL. In 2016, the act won the fourth season of Belgium’s Got Talent.
Previously, a TV series and comic strip based on Baba Yega launched in Belgium, a feature film, Baba Yega: The Movie, was released early last year, and the group’s special greeting gesture has developed into a popular move among kids showcased in YouTube videos.
