DHX Media has upped Maarten Weck (pictured) to EVP and MD of its London-based CPLG business unit. Effective immediately, Weck will oversee all of CPLG’s global operations and report to DHX Media COO Aaron Ames.

He secedes former CPLG CEO Peter Byrne, who has left the company. DHX Brands—previously part of Byrne’s mandate as well—will now report to DHX Media CEO Michael Donovan. Weck first joined CPLG in 2005, leaving briefly in 2010 and returning in 2011. Most recently he served as managing director of Northern Europe, with a focus on the UK, Nordic, Central and Eastern Europe and Benelux territories.

CPLG manages the licensing and merchandising rights for more than 40 brand partners, including Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Mattel, Spin Master and Peanuts. Recently, the licensing agency was appointed to rep the Dr. Seuss franchise in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
