Italian producer/distributor Mondo TV is launching its new animated kids show MeteoHeroes.

Scheduled to launch in spring 2020, MeteoHeroes is a co-production with MOPI (Meteo Operations Italia, commonly known as Epson Weather Centre). The 52 x seven-minute series is billed as an eco-adventure and stars a group of kids who can control the weather. Mondo TV is currently in talks with potential broadcast partners.

Addressing issues like global warming, ecology and respecting nature, Mondo TV plans to build a consumer products program that includes school- and learning-related items. Italian publishing house Giunti has inked an exclusive agreement for press and digital master publishing across Italy, with products set to launch in spring 2020.

According to recent research from market intelligence company The Insights People, more than half of 13- to 18-year-olds in the UK consider their effect on the environment. This growing awareness is likely driven by greater conversation around climate change and kid-focused content highlighting the negative effects of environmental damage.
