Genius Brands International has signed on LA-based toyco PhatMojo as the North American master toy partner for its original preschool show Llama Llama. Launching in 2019, the new range will include figures, play sets, carry cases, construction and plush.
The 15 x half-hour show—inspired by the bestselling book series of the same name by author and illustrator Anna Dewdney—premiered globally on Netflix in January. Llama Llama follows Llama and his Mama (voiced by Jennifer Garner) as they deal with the challenges of early childhood. Netflix greenlit a second season of the show in June, and Genius Brands announced it was developing two new half-hour specials with the streamer.
Genius Brands previously announced plans to expand Llama Llama’s consumer products program, with a focus on toys, apparel, home furnishings and juvenile products. Other licensing partners for the brand include Kids Preferred (plush), Cuddle Barn (animatronic plush toys), Prime Party (online party supplies) and Myself Designs/Myself Belts (belts).
