New York-based kidtech company SuperAwesome has tapped Ben Zagorski as its new chief revenue officer for North America.
Zagorski most recently worked as chief revenue officer at SNL’s digital comedy studio Above Average. Prior to that, he served in the same role at Upworthy and VP, publisher at Daily Beast.
In this new role, he will be managing the company’s sales and business development teams across North America. The hire was in an effort to keep up with SuperAwesome’s fastest-growing market–the US.
The kidtech company creates developer tools to provide solutions for a kid-safe online world that are used by Mattel, Disney, Hasbro and more. It reaches more than 300 million kids per month across mobile, web and online video using tech that ensures COPPA-compliant advertising.
Earlier this year, SuperAwesome debuted the new SafeFam program that aims to educate YouTubers (and their parents) on how to churn out the best content aimed at kids. It also brought in US$21 million in Series B funding in 2017 from Mayfair Equity Partners to grow and improve operation,s as well as grow geographically. A big part of that funding was to expand in the North American market, since that is now the biggest area of revenue for the company–making Zagorski’s hire particularly apt.
