Paris-based VIZ Media Europe (VME) has promoted Mathilde Le Calvé to brand and movie distribution manager for the Middle East, Africa and Europe. She previously held the position of brand manager of EMEA and has now added the movie distribution sector to her remit.
In her new position, Le Calvé is going to be arranging theater releases and developing film distribution strategies with various partners including festivals, cinemas, TV channels and distributors. She will be driving sales for its slate of animated films The Wolf Children, A Silent Voice, Perfect Blue, Grave of the Fireflies, Piano Forest and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
Le Calvé joined the distribution company in April 2017 and since then has developed branding strategies for Captain Tsubasa, Yo-kai Watch and My Hero Academia. Prior to joining VME, she was senior product marketing manager for Spanish brand Famosa, where she was in charge of adapting Mutant Busters and Pinypon for the French market.
VME recently acquired TV, digital, home video and licensing rights to the rebooted animated series Captain Tsubasa from Shueisha and acquired distribution rights across all platforms for animated manga film A Silent Voice.
