Funko taps marketing and e-commerce exec

The toyco behind Pop! vinyl figurines has appointed Molly Hartney as CMO and SVP of e-commerce.

Funko, the Washington toymaker behind Pop! vinyl figurines, has tapped Molly Hartney as chief marketing officer and SVP of e-commerce. Hartney will spearhead the toyco’s marketing and digital presence, as well as drive sales through all channels.

Hartney joins Funko from Lowe’s affiliated furniture company The Mine, where she led brand management, marketing communications, market research and customer experience as VP of marketing and merchandising.

Her appointment comes on the heels of Funko acquiring UK-based animation company A Large Evil Corporation, which now operates as Funko Animation Studios. In late 2016, Funko also opened a 90,000-square-foot office to accommodate its continued growth.
