NBCUniversal-owned Universal Kids is adding a pair of new original lifestyle series—Get Out Of My Room and The Big Fun Crafty Show—to its 2018 programming slate.
Commissioned last October and set to premiere May 21, Get Out Of My Room is a makeover show for tweens created and produced by New York-based Departure Films (along with executive producer Marta Ravin.) The show gives siblings who share bedrooms the opportunity to design and build new rooms for each other with help from the show’s host Claire Zinnecker, an interior designer and lifestyle influencer, and resident carpenter Jerry Brown Jr.
The Big Fun Crafty Show, meanwhile, is a competition series hosted by Sprout House‘s Carly Ciarrocchi. It features three teams of two kids tackling one imaginative crafting challenge. The series is produced by Canada’s Breakthrough Entertainment and will debut on May 14.
In other unscripted new series launches, Universal Kids premiered Life Hacks for Kids: On the Road in partnership with DreamWorksTV on March 3. The show follows the road trip hacking adventures of YouTube star Gillian and her sister Angeline. Junk Drawer Magical Adventures will follow on May 12. The 22-minute series is based on one of DreamWorksTV’s biggest YouTube hits, Junk Drawer Magic.
The four new series join Universal Kids’ unscripted slate that already includes hit series Top Chef Junior, Beat the Clock and The Noise.
