Air Bud Entertainment (ABE), the Malibu-based production company behind the Disney Air Buddies direct-to-DVD film series, is producing a new show for the House of Mouse entitled Puppy Prep Academy. Expected to hit Disney Channel US in 2019, the new series will follow live-action talking animals as they learn to become humankind’s best friends.

On top of the TV series, ABE is adding to its Pup Star movie franchise on Netflix with Pup Star: World Tour (pictured), which will bow on the streamer on May 5. The movie will be followed by Pup Star: A Pup Star Christmas in December. The films join the first and second instalments of the Netflix film franchise, Pup Star and Pup Star: Better 2Gether, which were released in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Puppy Prep Academy will have some canine company in Puppy Dog Pals, which premiered on Disney Junior this past April on National Puppy Day. That series follows the adventures of two pugs named Bingo and Rolly, with brand extensions released by Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media last summer.
