DHX Media-owned digital kids network WildBrain has signed a multi-year deal with JibJab Studios to manage and grow the StoryBots brand on YouTube.
WildBrain plans to grow the online audience for StoryBots through original content, comment moderation, the use of proprietary technology tools and digital rights management. Aimed at kids ages three to eight, the StoryBots channel has amassed more than 500 million minutes of watch time and 340,000 subscribers. It is also used to drive viewers to StoryBots’ educational website, apps and other products.
The brand’s iOS apps, for example, feature StoryBots learning videos with personalized technology. There are also hundreds of eBooks, activities and games, and educators are given free access to the entire library of StoryBots Classroom programs. There is also a Netflix Original six x half-hour series, Ask the StoryBots, created by JibJab’s Gregg and Evan Spiridellis.
WildBrain’s YouTube network currently consists of 35 million subscribers and 55 billion minutes of watch time from July through December 2017. The network manages all of Moose Toys’ YouTube channels for Shopkins, Grossery Gang, Happy Places and Twozies. WildBrain also recently signed a deal for Mother Goose Club’s two flagship YouTube channels.
