Canadian broadcasters TVO and Knowledge Network have greenlit Super Mighty Makers from JamPie Media and marblemedia. The live-action scripted kids series will begin production this fall and will bow later next year.
The 26 x 11-minute series encourages kids to engage in acts of kindness by making crafts with the Super Mighty Makers, a superhero team with DIY powers. It is created by JamPie Media head Jamie Piekarz—who launched her prodco last year after spending nearly two decades at Corus Kids—and will be produced in collaboration with marblemedia, TVO and Knowledge Network.
Super Mighty Makers will be accompanied by a strong digital media component produced by marblemedia interactive. The digital aspect will have videos teaching kids how to make the crafts they see on the show.
marblemedia’s Distribution360, meanwhile, will hold distribution and licensing rights to the series, including both tape and format sales.
