Turner-owned UK preschool channel Cartoonito has picked up CHF Entertainment’s new 2D-animated series Daisy & Ollie. The 52 x seven-minute toon, executive produced by British comedian Jason Manford, will premiere exclusively on the channel in October. (Manford will also voice multiple characters in the series.)
Based on an original idea by Helen Brown, Daisy & Ollie follows the adventures of the titular characters, along with their toys Boo the Monkey and Whizzy the Robot, as they seek out the answers to questions all kids have, like “Why ducks don’t wear rain coats?” The series also features music and songs from Daisy’s dad, and encourages children to be curious and ask questions about the world around them.
In June, CHF Entertainment’s 2D-animated preschool series Pip Ahoy! made its on-demand debut in China, thanks to the prodco’s partnership with Yecheng Shanghai Media, Shanghai Media Group-owned Wings Media and China Telecom. CHF has begun production on a 26 x 11-minute third season of Pip Ahoy! in collaboration with Wings Media, with new episodes expected to bow at the end of 2017.
