Nelvana-produced preschool series Ranger Rob is making way for a second season, the studio’s parent company Corus Entertainment has confirmed.
The animated show, which debuted on Corus-owned Treehouse in Canada last fall, will return for an additional 14 episodes. No broadcast date has been set.
On Treehouse, the 13-episode first season was the highest-rated series in fall 2016, according to Numeris data provided by Corus. The series also airs on TF1 in France, Super RTL in Germany, Disney Channel in Australia, Nickelodeon Italy, Canal Panda Portugal, YLE/TV2 Finland and HOP Israel.
Ranger Rob follows a 10-year-old ranger-in-training as he ziplines, swings and snowboards around Big Sky Park.
In addition, the show’s master toy licensee, Quebec-based Imports Dragon, will launch a line of toys based on the series. Targeting a preschool audience, the in-development toy line will launch in Canada and select European territories in spring 2018, followed by a broader release in fall 2018.
