Less than a year since its launch, UK firm Larkshead Media has established Dublin-based partner company Larkshead Media Ireland.
Led by production vet Eamon McElwee, the new branch will work on development, strategy, investment, licensing, merchandising and distribution for kids content. Its main focus will be financing, investment packaging and co-production opportunities within Europe. According to the company, a foothold in Ireland comes with tax subsidies, plus the new office has the added advantage of allowing Larkshead to continue working in both Europe and the UK in the wake of Brexit.
As MD of his own company, Global Media Finance, McElwee has spent 25 years raising development and production funds, building sales, investment and strategic partnerships for a variety of genres.
Larkshead Media was launched by former Nickelodeon UK exec Tim Patterson last September. It has since added Q Pootle 5 (CBeebies) and Planet Wrong (Aubergine Films and Melwood Pictures) to its slate.
