Nickelodeon is bringing back another animated property from its content vault.

The US kidcaster has greenlit a 90-minute Invader Zim TV movie based on the original series that debuted on Nickelodeon in 2001.

The 2D-animated movie comes from the show’s creator Jhonen Vasquez and will feature some of the original voice cast including Richard Horvitz as Invader Zim, Rosearik Rikki Simmons as GIR (Zim’s robot sidekick), Andy Berman as Dib Membrane (the paranormal investigator) and Melissa Fahn as Gaz Membrane (Dib’s younger sister).

The TV movie will follow Zim as he plans to destroy Earth and get attention from his Irken leaders.

Invader Zim follows Nick’s announcements of upcoming TV movies Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie and the Rocko’s Modern Life TV special. Hey Arnold! is expected to air this year and will pick up from where the story let off in 2004. Rocko’s Modern Life, meanwhile, is bringing back the show’s classic characters but with a new fresh take.
