The Jim Henson Company has signed a number of broadcast deals in North America, Europe and the Middle East for its preschool series Splash and Bubbles (pictured) and Dot.
Splash and Bubbles (80 x 11 minutes), which currently airs on PBS KIDS in the US, has been picked up by Canadian provincial pubcasters TVO (Ontario) and Knowledge Network (British Columbia).
Dot. (52 x 11 minutes) has been acquired by Piwi+ in France, Dreamia’s Canal Panda in Portugal and Swedish national public broadcaster SVT. Jim Jam also picked up the show for MENA and Benelux territories, and Israel Education Television has acquired the rights to the series in Israel. Dot. is based on the picture book by Randi Zuckerberg and made its US debut on Sprout last year.
The deals come just after Henson made a deal with US streamer Hulu to premiere Dot. on the SVOD on April 15.
