UK-based distributor Media I.M. has sold the second season of animated non-dialog series Sunny Bunnies from Belarusian prodco Digital Light Studio to Disney EMEA.
The latest season of the 26 x 3.5-minute comedy for four- to seven-year-olds will launch on Disney Junior in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and French-speaking Europe, Spain, Italy and Italian-speaking Europe, the Nordic, Baltic and Benelux territories, Portugal/PALOP, Ireland, and Andorra.
The deal brings the series’ reach to 156 countries.
Originally launched last year on the Sunny Bunnies YouTube channel, which is operated by DHX-owned WildBrain, the toon follows the adventures of five bunnies that have the ability to appear anywhere there is light.
Season two premiered on the brand’s YouTube channel in January. That same month, Disney snapped up the series for its sister channels in the US, South East Asia, CEEMEA (CEE, Middle East, Africa), Russia/CIS, Australia/New Zealand and Japan.
Media I.M. holds the IP’s exclusive worldwide rights (including TV sales and digital/VOD rights) outside of Russia, CIS and the Republic of China. The company also has plans to take Sunny Bunnies into the L&M space and is currently seeking toy and publishing partners.
