Popular YouTube channel ChuChu TV has partnered with Amazon Prime Video for an India-exclusive agreement that will see ChuChu TV’s content debut outside of the video-sharing platform for the first time.
Through the two-year deal, ChuChu TV’s nursery rhymes, original educational songs, bedtime stories and comedy shows will be available exclusively on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video in India. The ChuChu TV family of channels includes ChuChu TV, ChuChu TV Surprise, ChuChu TV Funzone and ChuChu TV Story Time.
ChuChu TV is currently the number-one kids YouTube channel in India and Asia Pacific, and the deal comes as Amazon continues to ramp up its SVOD efforts in the region. Earlier this year, for example, Amazon Prime Video India picked up more than 100 hours of content from Paris-based Zodiak Kids library.
For its part, ChuChu TV recently secured a deal with UK-based digital distributor and content management agency MoMedia, which will provide social media marketing campaigns, promotional activity, real-time analytics and data on illegal torrents.
In addition to digital growth, ChuChu TV is also focused on launching licensed merch. The YouTube property is currently working on a CP program with Indian licensing representation company Dream Theatre.
