MarVista Entertainment has extended its broadcast licensing agreement with Disney XD Latin America to deliver a second season of the animated series Yo-Kai Watch.
Yo-Kai Watch first premiered across all five of Disney XD Latin America’s feeds in June. The show’s second season will continue to follow the adventures of the mischievous Yo-kai, invisible beings that cause life’s small annoyances. The upcoming episodes will introduce more characters as well as a new watch.
Additionally, MarVista is also partnering with Disney XD Latin America to deliver the property’s first English-language film, Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie. The film premiered in the US on Disney XD and on Netflix in November, following a limited theatrical run in 300 US theaters the month prior. Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie follows the characters as they are transported to the past to battle evil Yo-kai.
MarVista has also secured new licensing agreements for the game and animation property through its pan-Latin American licensing agent Tycoon Enterprises.
The deals will see new products in categories like outerwear, pajamas, underwear, swimwear, back to school, stationery, notebooks, home, toys and games launch across Latin America—including Mexico— early this year. Altogether, more than 500 SKUs will be available through retail partners like Walmart Mexico and Central America, Chedraui, Soriana, Ripley, Fallabela and Pepe Ganga.
Among the new licensees are Union Kids, Movis, Grupo Ruz, Scribe, Granmark, Regalos Siglo XXI, Importadora Grezon, IMC Toys, Topps Latin America: Induropa, Titanio, Windsor, Ansaldo, Party Express, Laboratorios Durandin, Eficiencia Laboral, Textiles Arval, Papelera Nacional and STOR.
