Hong Kong’s Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE) is launching its edutainment preschool channel Miao Mi in the US on premium SVOD Amazon Channels.  The deal marks CTE’s first foray into the US market, after launching Miao Mi in Singapore and Australia earlier this year.

Under the new deal, Miao Mi will be available to Amazon Prime members for US$5.99 per month. (Amazon Channels allows Prime subscribers to sign up for third-party video services through one platform.)

Miao Mi helps three- to six-year-olds learn Mandarin, with programs available in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Content featured on the channel includes Star Babies, a series inspired by Chinese icons like Bruce Lee, animated series Eori, which is based on Asian folk tales, and Pleasant Goat Fun Class, an educational series featuring characters from the animated Pleasant Goat franchise.

Original CTE production Miao Mi Classroom  will also be featured on the channel. The program uses animated flash cards and songs to teach Mandarin.
