Rovio Animation’s VOD service ToonsTV is expanding its reach in a new deal with Israel-based content discovery platform KIDOZ.

The partnership marks the first time ToonsTV video content will be available outside of Rovio Animation’s own digital platforms. Rovio shows distributed via KIDOZ include all of the current franchise videos featured on ToonsTV, such as Angry Birds Toons, Piggy Tales (pictured) and Plunder Pirates.

KIDOZ, which currently reaches more than 25 million active monthly users, adds to ToonsTV’s growing availability. The platform launched earlier this year on Apple TV, and, across 30 channels, has racked up more than six billion views to date.

The KIDOZ Network, which spans more than 1,000 apps, has a built-in browser that comes pre-installed on devices made by more than 40 consumer electronic manufacturers. Last year, the startup received US$3.5 million from Millhouse Capital in additional funding, which allowed it to expand into the US and China.

Finland-based Rovio Animation is the studio behind the recent Angry Birds Movie that grossed US$345 million worldwide. The company recently produced a new 30-episode series of shorts starring Angry Bird characters, which will be available in February.
