JAM’s Little Roy scores Egmont publishing deal

The global agreement (excluding North America) includes TV tie-ins for books and magazines based on JAM Media's hybrid live-action/animated series.

Dublin-based prodco JAM Media has signed a global publishing deal (excluding North America) with Egmont Publishing for its preschool property Little Roy. The hybrid live-action/animated series airs on both CBeebies and CBBC in the UK.

The exclusive agreement includes TV tie-ins for print and eBooks, as well as magazines based on the 52 x 14-minute show. Little Roy follows the daily adventures of five-year-old Roy O’Brien, who escapes into cartoon sequences as his alter-ego Wonder Roy.

The publishing deal will focus on Roy, as well as his cartoon persona.

The Irish Film Board and the Northern Ireland Screen have provided development and production funding for Little Roy, which was jointly commissioned by CBeebies and CBBC. The series has been presold to RTE (Ireland), ABC (Australia), NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden), DR (Denmark), YLE (Finland), VRT (Belgium) and HOP TV (Israel).
