Historic British toy retailer Hamleys has announced the grand opening of its flagship Chinese store in Nanjing on October 1.

Additional branches will be introduced in several major Chinese cities in 2017. Further locations include Beijing, Shanghai, Xuzhou and Hangzhou. According to Hamelys, as many as 100 stores could open in China in the near future.

The Nanjing location, which spans four floors, features traditional and high-tech educational toys for children of all ages. Hamleys has partnered with brands such as Hasbro, Mattel and Lego to provide a wide variety of products.

The Nanjing store also has 10 entertainment facilities, including remote control car racing and virtual reality games, that span the store’s four floors.

Hamleys was acquired by the Nanjing-based fashion retailer C.banner in 2015. The retailer was established in 1760.
