Paris-based Cyber Group Studios has appointed Raphaelle Mathieu as VP of sales, acquisitions and new media, replacing Marie Congé, who has left the company to pursue personal interests.
Mathieu was formerly general delegate of the French SEDPA, the professional union of French audiovisual distributors for live-action, factual and animated genres, where she negotiated distribution agreements with the French government and industry players. She also previously served as head of acquisitions and sales at French audiovisual company Zylo, was co-founder of TV and feature animation prodco Daydream, and co-founded Timing, which helped fiction and animation producers complete their financing plans.
Mathieu joins Cyber Group during a period of growth. The company acquired Parisian producer Piktor Media earlier this year, at which time Cyber Group CEO Pierre Sissman told Kidscreen he’s looking to buy two more global prodcos this year, with plans to add even more by 2018. Cyber Group also plans to establish a base in Shanghai to extend its global footprint.
Cyber Group currently has six animated series slated for production in 2016, including season three of Zou, Mirette Investigates, Pirates Next Door and Brown Bag co-pro Gilbert and Allie.
